Private Half Day Tour with Guide and Driver
Known by the poets as the city of light Lisbon has been the harbour for many people throughout the centuries. Let me take you to see Lisbon for the first time introducing you to the scenic narrow streets of some of the oldest neighbourhoods such as Graça, Alfama and others.
The best way to have an introduction to the capital of Portugal is by driving through the vivid squares and avenues of the town. You will have the chance to admire the daily life of locals along Rossio square, the Avenue of Liberty and finally having a great panoramic picture from one of the viewpoints of Lisbon, the Eduard VII Park.
Next is time to head Belém known as the most monumental quarter in town where we'll visit iconic buildings such as the Belém Tower and the Monastery of Saint Jerome (both from the 16th c) and the 20th c. Monument of the Discoveries dedicated to the golden age of Portugal: the maritime expeditions.
You will fall in love by this magnificent city!
Our day starts from your hotel or pier and we'll cover the Downtown squares such as Rossio, Restauradores and the Liberty Avenue. We'll proceed towards the oldest neighborhoods of Lisbon such as Graça and Alfama where we'll have a small walk (about 20 minutes) to catch the feeling of the area.
Continue towards Belém district to visit the Monastery of Saint Jerome (Church and Cloister), the Tower of Belem (photo stop and outdoor visit) and the Monument to the Discoveries (photo stop and outdoor visit).
Drive back to your hotel/accomodation or cruise pier.
**The Monastery of Saint Jerome closes on Mondays.

Matilde was fabulous. She was knowledgeable, considerate, pleasant and cooperative. She was everything a tourist would hope for in a guide. Carlos, the driver was also wonderful. We will definitely want to use her again when we return to Lisbon.
