Tour of the Muckross Estate and Torc Waterfall, Killarney Co. Kerry.
Muckross House is a magnificent Victorian mansion with elegantly furnished rooms offering a glimpse into the life of the landed gentry. The House & Gardens are set in spectacular surroundings of landscaped grounds which feature exotic trees and shrubs encompassed in over 10, 000 hectares of Killarney National Park overlooking Killarney Lakes and mountains.
Muckross House was built in 1843 and was presented to the Irish State by the Vincent family in 1932 and was designated a National Park for the recreation and enjoyment of the Irish people and all visitors to Killarney. Muckross House also had a Traditional Farm where traditional dwellings are furnished in the old style, and you can witness age old traditions of bread making and butter churning reminiscent of farming in Ireland in the 1930's & 1940's. Other attractions include The Sunken Garden, The Rock Garden, The Boathouse and magnificent specimen Monterey Pines. Torc Waterfall feeds from the Owengarriff River and is a splendid sight.

I would emphatically recommend Mary's tour of Killarney. It was perfect, thank you Mary! The best part of our trip, we all agree. Mary is warm, friendly and accommodating, and having a tour guide/driver is the best way to see the sights. My two kids (5 and 15) and I took a train from Cork to Killarney where Mary was waiting for us on the platform. We used her booster seat- thanks! We were treated like family and we have no complaints, only gratitude. Both kids were so happy! Hope to see you again one day.
