Motor Tour from Kenmare to Beara Peninsula
The Beara Peninsula route includes wild seascapes, beautiful scenery and colourful villages with many surprises along the way. The tour starts in Kenmare and continues on the scenic and coastal route to Tuosist, Lauragh, Ardgroom and Castletownbere viewing Bantry Bay and the two mountain ranges - The Caha Mountains and The Slieve Miskish Mountains. This drive is also part of the Wild Atlantic Way tourism trail filled with hidden gems and treasures.
We will also pass through the towns of Adrigole, Castletownbere, Allihies with sights of Dursey Island and arrive in the small tourist town of Glengarriff returning to Kenmare via The Healy Pass and Bonane.
9am Collection from your hotel accommodation followed by a tour of The Stone Circle in Kenmare.
We drive to the southern tip visiting Bonane Heritage Park which is an archaeological site including Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age monuments up to pre-famine times. We then visit Molly Gallivan's Cottage & Traditional Farm and continue to Glengarriff where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Gulf Stream producing a tropical landscape of lush vegetation. We can visit Garnish Island, a beautiful tropical island full of plants and flowers passing Seal Island on the short boat trip from the mainland.
Castletownbere is our next stop viewing Dursey Island and passing through the villages of Allihies, Eyeries and Ardgroom before heading back via Lauragh to Kenmare.
