Born in Halifax, NS and raised in the area, I enjoy meeting new people and showing them the beauty of Nova Scotia. There is so much to see and do and taste!
I've lived in Toronto, Ontario (3 years) and Edmonton, Alberta (20 years). The sea and slower pace of life drew me back home in 2011. Proud to be a Canadian and a Nova Scotian (Blue Noser!)
I've traveled all across Canada as well as driving across a 'few' times. I love to travel myself and have been to many places including Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Belize, Honduras, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and England … to name a few. I value using 'local guides' when I travel to get the real flavour of the people and culture. Using local guides is key to find those Hidden Gems.
I love the outdoors and involved with soccer and have a background in Martial Arts.
Experience the fresh air in an open top Jeep ! My tours are private and flexible to allow you to enjoy local culture on the scenic routes without the crowds of the big tour buses. All tours can be customized according to your interests and what you want to see and do. You will enjoy seeing the 'must see' sights and you'll LOVE the 'hidden gems' of the places we explore with chances to see what others miss as well as experience the locals and the food and drinks. From Nova Scotia's famous lobster and other sea faring foods to amazing local Nova Scotia wines, beer, cider, and distilled drinks! Come explore, experience and enjoy !
I can accommodate groups of up to four and at times can partner with another guide(s) to accommodate up to 14 passengers. Feel free to message me if you have any questions or special requests.
A Recent Review of this guide
My husband and I decided to book a private tour while on a cruise ship, hoping that we would see a little more than if we took a ship tour. Mel was very personable and worked hard to give us the tour we wanted. Could not fault the day. We enjoyed every place he showed us. He had a lot of local knowledge and was very informed about all the locations he took us to. Our seafood lunch was awesome. Highly recommend.
I've been doing tours since 2013.
My Jeep is a 4X4 Wrangler Sahara and is Registered by the Utility Board of Nova Scotia with all required insurance and coverage to meet local requirements for Touring
I can accommodate up to four people in my Jeep Wrangler 4X4. One passenger in the front and three in the back.
For larger groups of up to 14 it is possible to partner with other local tour guides. Please contact me for availability and pricing.
