An inspiring day that will make you go back in time to an epoch of fairy tales and aristocratic towns
This is a tour to the outskirts of Lisbon, visiting the World Heritage town of Sintra and its fairy tale castle - Pena Palace, built in the 19th century by Ferdinad II, the Artist King.
The luxurious vegetation of Sintra, its historical Palaces, the foggy weather, made it a perfect refugee for Romantic artists such as Lord Byron, Hans Christian Andersen, Wagner or Strauss. I'm sure you will feel inspired too!
We will go to the westernmost point in Continental Europe - Cabo da Roca - the place where the land finishes and the Ocean starts. . .
Stroll in Cascais, old fisherman village that in the 19th century became the summer destination of the Portuguese aristocracy. A great place to have a fish or seafood lunch!
Passage by aristocratic Estoril and route back to Lisbon by the coast.

Claudia is lovely! She greeted us at the hotel with a warm smile and gave us a wonderful, comprehensive tour of Sintra and the surrounding countryside. Claudia wanted us to enjoy ourselves; we never felt rushed as we wandered through the castle and the shops. She obviously loves what she is doing and has all the information at her fingertips. Plus her English is clear and understandable. All in all, I would choose Claudia to serve as our tour leader if we are lucky enough to return to Portugal.
