Experience to remember (Dubrovnik's south)

Southern most part of Croatia hides a magnificent country side, called Konavle. This area which is positioned 30-50 kilometers south of Dubrovnik is an interesting mix of pure nature and historical and cultural heritage of great value.
Here is possible to see traces of different civilizations since prehistoric times through the roman times, the Middle Ages, the times of Dubrovnik republic up to present day.

Aside from giving us the unique possibility to explore all that history, this beautiful area enchants with its small picturesque villages, protected natural landscape of the river Ljuta with its preserved watermills, Konavle field agriculture area and steep Konavle rocks that rise above the crystal clear sea. The medieval small town of Cavtat also belongs to this region and offers an ideal point to start the Konavle exploration.
Therefore, if you wish to explore some of these or even a traditional meals in some of the local restaurants along the river Ljuta, please feel free to contact me. . .

Itinerary

Our tour starts with picking you up at preferred location in Dubrovnik ( hotel, accommodation, Cruise ship port by the gang way) by my personal car ( 1 - 4 travelers ) / mini van ( 5 - 8 travelers ) after which we will cover several panoramic stops. First, we will visit Srđ hill located directly above the Old town and then we'll drive through the small picturesque villages overlooking the Župa bay towards the Grey Falcon viewpoint above Konavle valley and Cavtat town. Then we'll proceed through north Konavle villages towards the well preserved watermills on river Ljuta for a presentation of local craft and than we can have an optional lunch break at one of the traditional restaurants along the river.

The tour will continue through picturesque villages of south Konavle area ( like the small village of Molunat on the sea side ) and above the steep slops of Konavle rocks leading us to medieval town of Cavtat. Walking tour through Cavtat and its great historical and cultural heritage.
Return back to Dubrovnik.

A Recent Review of this tour

What an excellent and informative tour we had with Darko! What a professional he is! Darko was waiting for us at the gang plank earlier than our assigned time. He delivered an outstanding presentation of the countryside surrounding Dubrovnik. Any questions we asked, he answered. He presented historical, geographic, economic, and social information of the area that was tailored to our interests. All we can say is , "Thank you, Darko" for making our trip to Dubrovnik so memorable.
