I know the city like the back of my hand and yet I can see it with the eyes of a visitor.
Walking and bicycle tours are my favourite ways of showing you my city. My favourite tours include cultural history, both old and modern architecture, information about the everyday life of the citizens and a culinary experience.
I will lead you through the cobbled streets of the city centre, any district you desire, or into one of the several interesting museums Copenhagen has to offer. If you wish to see even more, we could go either West and see the medieval cathedral of Roskilde; South to the green and quiet islands; or East for lunch and shopping in the neighbouring Swedish city of Malmö. Combining tours into multi-day adventures is also an option.
Showing visitors my much-loved squares, cafés, shops, parks and architectural details - all the while avoiding the crowds - is something I never tire of.
Let me know if you have any specific interests such as architecture, literature, music, food or perhaps a historical period or figure and I will tailor the tour accordingly. Any theme is welcome and at the same time I promise to let you know if it is not my area of expertise. Customised tours are part of why I adore being a guide!
Please check my availability via the calendar and if I am free, I would very much like to work with you designing a tour especially for you.
Whether or not you choose a tour with me, be sure to try at least a few of the following recommendations for Copenhagen:
- Smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches; the traditional Danish lunch)
- Coffee in a park (experience the Danish joie de vivre)
- A visit to The Kings Garden
- Seasonal: The Jazz Festival
A Recent Review of this guide
This was a great tour and Sofie was very accommodating. She took us to places we would never see without her knowledge of the history, culture, and community of this beautiful city. Sofie focused on our interests and adapted the tour to ensure we were satisfied. We highly recommend Sofie and encourage others to book her services...she is quite remarkable.

Under Danish law, I cannot act as driver while guiding. I can arrange transport + driver or use public transport and/or taxis for tours.
