A Tour of the Wharf and the Fortress
This is a private tour of Bergen in a historical perspective. You will have the opportunity to go for a walk at the Wharf, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The ancient gables and the narrow alleyways will make you feel like stepping back in time to the era when the Hanseatic merchants dominated Bergen's trade.
You will hear interesting stories about the stock fish trade, daily life in the Middle ages, and about the Wharf as a secret hide-out during World War II.
Additionally, you will see the Bergenhus Fortress, with old Medieval buildings, like the Rosenkrantz tower and the Haakon's hall.

Olga was a very good guide. She had a perfect combination of expaining the history and importance of the sites we visited. She was flexible in accommodating our special intersts and she helped us plan further excurions after our tour was finished. Reflecting on her tour I realized that she gave us a much better picture of Bergen that we would have ever had on our own
