Explore Bridgetown with a local guide!

There's no better way to explore the beauty and wonders of Barbados than with a walking tour through the City of Bridgetown which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is one of the few World Heritage sites in the Caribbean. Bridgetown Barbados is full of interesting history that dates back to 400 years, the culture, people, food and the amazing sights. See our fantastic attractions like the Barbados Parliament Building and the Nidḥe Israel Synagogue one of the oldest synagogues in the western hemisphere. Admire a bronze statue that honors Lord Horatio Nelson and walk the boardwalk on the site where enslaved persons were bought from the Atlantic Ocean to be sold as slaves.

Itinerary

Take a 2. 5 hour walking tour of historic Bridgetown — the largest city in Barbados and a UNESCO World Heritage site! You'll visit several points of interest with an informative guide. After pickup from your hotel or the Bridgetown port, the day will begin at Pelican Island which now forms part of the Bridgetown port. Pelican Island was a small uninhabited island that is located off the West Coast of Bridgetown and Fontabelle area. The island was used by the Island's Brown Pelican as a primary nesting ground with some of the other local birds. On the walking tour you will stroll past historical buildings in the city such as the parliament building, as your guide takes you on a walk along the boardwalk including the Blackwoods screw dock, which is is the only dry dock of its kind known to exist in the world. As you hear a running commentary of the historic Bridgetown development from 400 years to today you will visit the historical sites and take pictures.
