Picture perfect views from the mighty walls of Dubrovnik
Every "Must List" about Dubrovnik must begin with its ancient walls.
The Old Town is hemmed in by towering mountains and the Adriatic Sea but these natural fences were reinforced by the sturdy walls which defended and defined city limits.
From the walls, you'll get the chance to take a bird's-eye view of the Old Town, the shimmering Adriatic Sea and the patchwork of red terracotta rooftops. A real feast for the eye and the photographer's lens.
In order to better understand the importance these walls had we shall start our walking tour with the visit to the historical center and then we shall climb and walk around the mighty walls which entirely ring the Old Town.
After meeting at the Port Gate the road will take us high above Dubrovnik allowing us to stop and enjoy the vista down on Dubrovnik's Old Town from a high ridge.
Dubrovnik is a city that you simply must see from the above.
We shall then make our way towards to Old Town where firstly we'll take a stroll down the main street, Stradun. This will enable us to see all the highlights of the Old Town: the Franciscan Monastery, Onofrio's fountain, the medieval orphanage, Sponza Palace, Rector's Palace, the Jewish Street, the Jesuit church and the Dominican Monastery and then we shall start the walk around the walls which entirely surround the historical centre. The walk on the walls will give you the opportunity to take a birds-eye-view of the Old Town.
I'll be happy to customize the tour for you, please inquire for a quote.
