All about the discovery period
This visit has as a goal to learn about the Portuguese golden ages, also known as, Discovery period (15th and 16th century).
On this 5 hour tour we are going to walk on Lisbon's former port and see the Belém Tower; the Monument of Discoveries and visit the church of Saint Jerôme monastery and the National Museum of Ancient Art.
During our discovery we are going to learn about the reasons that made the Portuguese go abroad; the inventions developed; the new products brought in that era and how did it affected the lives of those who were involved in commerce.
This day also includes a visit to the National Museum of Ancient Art, where we are going to do a 10-piece-itinerary to learn what were the portuguese artists producing during the 15th and 16th century and how did the portuguese presence influenced art in: Africa, India, China and Japan.
