Discover the History and Stories of the Friendly City followed by the Marine Bird Rehab Centre.
We start with a history of our City, going back to the original populations of the area and moving onto the arrival of the Europeans, specifically the 1820 Settlers. Visiting various points of interest you will hear stories of Naval Battles, a couple of ghosts and the art of Route 67, celebrating Nelson Mandela.
After a break for lunch and a visit to a craft centre we travel to SANCCOB, a local Marine bird rehab centre. Here they cater for all types of birds, but the main aim is to care for and release the very endangered African Penguin. It is a great place to get up close and personal with these incredible birds!
You will be picked up at your place of accommodation / port. After a 3 1/4 hour City Tour where we view and talk about various Historical sites we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant / coffee shop. Before travelling to SANCCOB we will visit a local craft shop where souvenirs can be purchased. At the marine bird rehab centre we will visit the educational centre and see African Penguins from close up. We end the tour at your place of accommodation / port when we drop you off.
