Two Andalusian white villages, but still different
Mijas is a lovely village up in the mountains of Sierra de Mijas.
Very popular, because it still remains a white washed village and is not so far away from the most touristic cities, like Torremolinos or Marbella and all the daily hassle.
Interesting is the history of the shrine of the ʻLady of the Rockʼ.
About 25 years of hand-carving in a solid limestone, just to shelter this beautiful virgin discovered by hazard in the 16 century.
What about the bullring, a strange kind of tiny ovulated Bullring.
Or take a donkey ride, on these ʻBurro-Taxiʼ, a reminiscence of the old village life.
We will visit the the village of Mijas in about 1 and a half hours, then we will continue to the lovely town of Marbella. Here will do the walking tour four about an hour and if you like we can add the famous Marina Puerto Banus (as a supplement).
Marbella is the favorite city for the european JET-SET. Everything began when General Franco came for the first time to Marbella in the sixties in his yacht. He loved it!
