Duncan, Cowichan Bay, and Shawnigan Lake are yours to enjoy
Local history and beautiful Island countryside are yours to enjoy with a private tour of the Cowichan Valley.
With Canada's only Mediterranean climate - the Warm Land is a fitting name for the Cowichan Valley and area. Named by the First Nations Coast Salish, Quw'utsun' or Cowichan means "land warmed by the sun".
Your day of discovery will begin with the historic Kinsol Trestle, Canada's tallest standing wooden trestle.
Historic steam locomotive rides, antique logging equipment and displays located on 100 acres, the BC Forest Discovery Centre is our next stop. And, who knows - we may see a rare and endangered Trumpeter Swan or Blue Heron at the adjacent (globally significant) Somenos Marsh, with over 219 bird species recorded.
From there, we'll travel to Cowichan Bay a seaside village known for its boutique cheese, seafood and ice-cream shops, artists showrooms, and Maritime Centre.
There'll be time for you to enjoy a leisurely lunch, and explore North America's first 'Cittaslow' town.
We'll start by departing from Victoria, travelling north through Goldstream Provincial Park, over the Malahat, and through the community of Shawnigan Lake on our way to the Kinsol Trestle.
