One of the most beautiful churches in Italy!
Part of the Arab-Norman World Heritage Sites, Monreale is probably one of the most beautiful churches in the world. Built in 1180 by the norman king William II. It stands majestically on a hill overlooking Palermo and what was once La Conca D'Oro, the Golden Valley. Totally decorated with Byzantine mosaics it features scenes from the old and new Testament dominated by the Pantocrator, the Creator of All. A visit to the cloisters will complete the day giving you a total view of this wonderful monument.
We will drive through the old city centre of Palermo to get to Monreale. It's about 20-30 minute drive. We will visit the monument and after that we'll visit the cloisters. The driver will take us back to our meeting place, cruise ship terminal, hotel or B&B.
