in the heart of Oslo
Historic walking tour.
Cronologicaly we walk through the Norwegian and Oslo's history, starting with a view towards where Oslo was founded in the year 1000. We continue through the fortress of Akershus, started in 1299, through the part of "the old city" named Christiania which was constructed in 1624. Along the way I will talk about Norwegian history and the union with Denmark from the year 1380. From there we pass the Parlament building , and the history will continue from 1814, the year Norway got the constitution and went into a union with Sweden. As we continue to walk, we will pass some historical buildings all built from the second half of 1800. And the history continues when we stop at the sculpture of our late king Haakon VII, our first king after we got our independence in 1905.
The tour will end at the City Hall where I will guide you through the beautiful halls all representing Norway and norwegian painters and craftmenship.

Marit gave us a great three hour tour with husbands walking issues. If ever in Oslo would use her for another tour.
