Experience the delights of the Wairarapa Wine Region and taste the local wines and food on offer.

After picking you up from your location of choice in Wellington, we head north following the Hutt River up to the Rimutuka Ranges. We drive through the Wairarapa rural countryside where we see sheep cattle and deer, before arriving at the wine township of Martinborough.

Our first winery stop is Palliser Estate named after the Cape Palliser lighthouse down on the coast. With a choice of over 20 wineries, we sample some award winning wines, including the Pinot Noirs that the region is renowned for. You will experience informative insights from some of the region's wine experts, many of whom are entertainers in their own right.

We lunch at Poppies Winery with a platter of local delicacies washed down with a complimentary glass of wine. Post-lunch the wine tasting continues at wineries like Te Karainga and Martinborough Winery or alternatively a coffee stop and some shopping can be arranged in nearby Greytown. The choice is yours.

We return you to Wellington after a relaxing and informative day out.

A Recent Review of this tour

John gave us fabulous tour of the Martinborough wine region! A beautiful area with fabulous wines! And food! He was also able to add in a quick tour of Wellington and got us back to the ship exactly when we asked. Highly recommended for those who want to get a taste of another wine region in New Zealand. John was a wonderful guide with a terrific sense of humor so the day was truly wonderful!
