Explore the capital's main historical and artistic areas in this 4-hour leisurely paced tour
Visit the capital to discover the main historical areas of the city in a private walking tour without rushing, Madrid of the Habsburgs, Literary quarter, Cibeles square and Madrid of the Bourbons.
We will walk for 4 hours through the oldest district of Madrid, we will learn about the foundation of Madrid, we will appreciate the typical Castilian architecture at the Plaza de la Villa and we will enjoy the charm of the Plaza Mayor (the Major square), which hosted so many events along history.
We will hear about the greatest playwrights and writers of the Spanish Golden Century, you will understand who Cibeles was and we will enjoy the elegance of the Madrid of the Bourbons, one of the most charming quarters of the capital.
Also, we will have time to have a coffee at any authentic cafe.
After picking you up at the agreed upon location we will head towards the Madrid of the Habsburgs, the oldest district of the city, where we will visit the Plaza de la Villa which hosts the historical city hall.
Our next step will be the Major square, place of so many events along history, then we will walk towards the Cava Baja, one of the best places to go for tapas.
Next stop will be the Puerta del Sol, the most famous square in the capital, from here we will walk to the Literary Quarter, the neighborhood where the "cream of the Spanish letters" lived contemporary centuries back.
Our tour will end by discovering the elegant district of the Bourbons, with its mythological fountains, Neptune, Apolo and Cibeles, the Spanish parliament, the monument to the Fallen soldier and two of the most important pictorial museums in the world, the Prado and the Thyssen Bornemisza.
