I'm very passionate about this special place, where I have always felt very much at home since the first day I stepped on island years ago. Originally from Paris, France, I have traveled to almost 40 coutries, and lived in such diverse places as Puerto Rico, New York, Australia. My heart settled on this little paradise in the Pacific! Wanna understand why it's so special? Keep reading. . .
A happy guest recently said about me: "her passion for sharing everything wonderful about Maui was evident from the moment she picked us up. " He's right. And there's nothing I love more than sharing all that with visitors. Ask me anything, and if I don't have the answer, we'll look it up together: my vehicle comes with a small box of books, as well as my personal reference binder.
I've gathered information about Maui over the years, by attending every conference, talk or screening I could go to, as well as hundreds of hours of training on all the different jobs I've had on island, and by attending courses on Hawaiian language, culture, and ecosystems. A lot of the knowledge is still oral tradition, so I've kept my ears and eyes wide open when interacting with respected elders. I am also a Certified Interpretive Guide, a reputable certification offered by the National Association for Interpretation for professional tour guides, park rangers, and other interpreters of resources around the world.
Before all that, I got a master's degree in International Communications, and obtained an MBA in Australia, with a minor in sustainable tourism. I'm trying to walk the talk, and apply what I've learned. . . So each and every tour will actually sponsor the planting of a tree in an area of Maui in need of forest restoration. That's only an example of what we do to give back. We're also currently in the process of obtaining certification from the Hawaii Ecotourism Association.
When I'm not jumping off waterfalls with you, you will most likely find me on a traditional Hawaiian 6-man outrigger canoe. Not much of a competitor, I prefer to go on long distance voyages, crossing channels and circumnavigating islands, pushing the limits of our physical and mental capacity.
Maui is, in my (admittedly biased!) opinion, the most amazing of all Hawaiian islands! It really packs a punch for being such a small island: dormant volcano peaking at 10, 000ft, rainforest, waterfalls, dry lava fields, blow hole, tide pools, dramatic landscapes and coastlines, and amazingly blue waters all around--all within reach in a few hours.
Come and join the growing list of guests who have said "this was the highlight of our Hawaii vacation, " book a customized tour of Maui with me, and let's go explore! A hui hou!

Delphine did a great job with out tour. We saw such diverse landscapes and some out of the way places that she thought we may enjoy. She knew the not to miss spots on the road to Hana and our lunch spots were awesome! ToursByLocals is the way to go should you decide on hiring a driver, which I would highly recommend!
