On the fields Buzzards, kestrels, hawks are launching also hundreds of attacks each day! Things are getting more serious in winter when an army of northern predators are invading Transylvania each year as a place to spend winter. The predators are here all year but on higher density on winter. Our goal is to photograph at least one predator considering the following options: from the car, a special tent or simply walking.

A large variety of other birds are present.

On our list we may have special encounters:

Ural owl- Strix uralensis
Tawny owl- Strix aluco
Scops owl- Asio flammeus
Lesser spoted eagle- Aquila pomarina
Barn owl- Tyo alba
White-tailed eagle- Haliaeetus albicila

Common encounters:

Common buzzard- Buteo Buteo
Kestrel- Falco tinnunculus
Goshawk - Accipiter gentilis

Waiting for an opportunity owls are conserving energy to launch the second attack from the canopy inside the forest. There is nowhere to escape!

The journey follows some specific locations to see a large variety of bird predators depending on the season of the year. Two different ecosystems are in sight. Agricultural and pasture landscapes and also the forestry environment.
