Discover one of the most beautifull coastlines of Brazil and the best touristic infrastructure in Bahia
This tour takes you first on sight seeing drive along the beaches of Salvador on the Atlantic Ocean. Then we take the Coconut Road in the direction of the most beautiful beaches of Bahia to the north of the city along the Coconut Coast. The road follows the coast and offers splendid views on dunes, lagoons and the Ocean itself, sovereign green and blue. Our final destination is Praia do Forte, a former fisherman village and, now, the most important touristic destination. Here you can visit the TAMAR Project that protects the five species of sea turtles that reproduce here along the coast, and see these huge and ancient reptiles just in front of you. Another possibility is to visit the old and mysterious Fort of Garcia D'Ávila, build on top of a hill with a panoramic view on the coastline. The village offers you a great choice of cosy restaurants with delicious local dishes and of tropical sunny beaches where you can get into the real Bahian mood having a caipirinha, eat grilled cheese and so much more!
You will be picked up at your hotel in the center of Salvador and, depending upon its localisation, we'll drive through the city all along the Atlantic coastline until the entrance of the airport. Passing the airport, we take the main road to leave the city in the direction of the North, called the Coconut Road, a very comfortable toll road that leads to the Coconut Coast and takes us to the village of Praia do Forte at 55 km of distance. First we drive through the town of Lauro de Freitas and then we pass a succession of beautiful beaches and small villages before arriving at our destination. The visit of the village is done by feet and if you are want to visit the Fort of Garcia D'Ávila, the car will bring you there after a short drive. At the end of the afternoon, at about 3:30 pm, we take the same road back to Salvador and, once arrived there, we take the most important avenue of the city, called Avenida Paralela, to get back to the center and drop you of at your hotel.

An excellent guide, knowledgeable, and flexible. We normally don't like organized tours, but Dirk customized everything to cater to what we wanted; more of what we like, less of what we don't! Also very helpful with a client with a wheelchair!
