On this three hour tour, we will explore items from synagogues which have been demolished as a direct consequence of the former Jewish ghetto's clearance. We'll take a look at books and archived documents which spanned across different Jewish communities living in Prague during the Second World War.
During 3 hours you will learn about the fate of the Jews in the Czech lands which constitutes a significant part of Czech national history and represents an important chapter in the history of the Jewish people in the Diaspora. We will visit interiors of the Jewish Museum established in 1906, one of the oldest Jewish museums in Europe. At the core of its collection are items from synagogues that had been demolished as a result of the clearance of the Prague Jewish ghetto as well as liturgical objects, books and archival documents from the defunct Jewish communities for the duration of the WWII.
Interiors to visit: Pinkas Syngogue, Spanish Synagogue (closed due to reconstruction untill 2020), Old-New Synagogue (the oldest active in Europe), Klausen Synagogue, Old Jewish Cemetery, Ceremonial Hall and Maisel Synagogue.
