Kamen gives a superb overview of the 6000-year history and key sites of old Plovdiv, which seems to be one of the best kept secrets (for USA folks anyway). I wish we had had more time to stay afterwards and explore the area in more depth. There's so much fascinating history and so much to see! Renovations are extensive and ongoing. Definitely take Kamen's tour to get the most out of your stay. He's so knowledgeable and engaging.
