Visit the Miracles Square, the tower (external) and the biggest medieval art museum of Italy

Everybody knows the Leaning tower of Pisa, but did you know that my city has the biggest medieval art museum of Italy? Want to see it? The museum of San Matteo di Pisa is a real jewel of the history of art. Few people know this, but inside there are artworks that have inspired Michelangelo, Donatello, and Giotto himself. My favorite statues inside is the Madonna del Latte by Andrea Pisano (you find it in the pictures).
It will be my pleasure to take you there!

Please NOTE: the Museum is closed on Monday; Sunday and Festivities afternoon

Itinerary

Ciao!
This is an idea of the itinerary:
1- tour of the Square of Miracles and the Leaning Tower of Pisa (if you want to climb the tower up, I will help you with the tickets)

2. A short walk will take us to the Medici (the great family) district, where we'll see the seat of the most important University of Italy, the Scuola Normale Superiore, the italian Harvard!

3. Through the narrow streets of the old town we'll pass by the house of Galileo Galilei and finally we'll get in front of the Museum, along the Arno river.

What will we see inside? A journey through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance:
Crucifixes painted with gold, works by Giunta Pisano, teacher of Cimabue and Giotto; Statues of Nicola and Giovanni Pisano, the greatest Italian artists of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries; and then Simone Martini, Andrea Pisano, Masaccio, Donatello, Ghirlandaio. A real wonder!

Let's do it!

Please NOTE: the Museum is closed on Monday; Sunday and Festivities afternoon

A Recent Review of this tour

We enjoyed Ale's tour very much. So far from the many tours and guides we have had on this trip, Alessandros' tour was by far the best! He was not only knowledgeable, he was passionate as he was compassionate. Mindful always of our comfort and desiring to share his city & his country. We covered so many things in the short time we were with him. We never knew Pisa had so much to offer beyond the tower.
