The Voyage of the Mayflower from England to Massachusetts Bay in 1620

This is my first new tour in many years. It's an all day trip designed for history enthusiasts. Because it's the 400th Anniversary of the English settlement I feel it's appropriate that I create this tour. It's actually a Cape Cod tour. The ride is very New England with lots of ocean views. The Cape itself is a great destination. The stops are designed to follow the Pilgrims route along the Cape and their relocation in Plymouth. They stayed about three weeks exploring the Cape while they lived on board the Mayflower. When they realized that the Capes soil was to sandy their scouts led the Puritan separatists to Plymouth Bay. The Mayflower dropped anchor in November 1620 and the incredible story of the nascent Massachusetts Bay Colony had begun. The Town Meeting, Trial by Jury and a women's right to inherit were ground braking concepts. Their determination, faith, and their strong sense of injustice eventually caused a political revolution that changed world.

Itinerary

Early departure from Boston. We cross the Canal and drive along Cape Cod Bay. Arriving in Chatham by ten am we look over Nantucket Sound. We imagine the Mayflower sailing by. Next stop is Provincetown where the Puritans dropped anchor. The Heritage Museum is worth about an hour. Now we start back and stop at Corn Hill this was the place that the Pilgrims found buried corn. A few days later they saw Indians at the First Encounter Beach. By mid afternoon we visit Plymouth. There are two attractions that you might want to spend time at. The Pilgrim Hall Museum and Plymouth Plantation. There might not be enough time to do both. You can go online and see their websites. Thats it we return to Boston along some of our scenic roads.
