Join our guide Mateo (an Otago Peninsula local) on a full-day private tour of Dunedin City and the Otago Peninsula.
Departing promptly in the morning we will take in stunning Dunedin City. Highlights will include photographic opportunities of the beautiful University of Otago campus, Signal Hill lookout, a drive through the Octagon and George St to admire Dunedin's impressive architecture, a short walk at Baldwin St - the steepest street in the world, and a stop at the Dunedin Railway Station.
Scenic views abound as we learn about the early settlers on the Otago Peninsula (Mateo's family) and arrive at Larnach Castle Gardens (Garden entry included, Castle entry additional) for lunch.
Our afternoon includes bird spotting around the bays and inlets, a private tour at a Yellow-eyed Penguin reserve to see the world's most endangered penguins (please contact us for up-to-date information about viewing expectations as the penguins are having a very difficult time at the moment!) and finally, free time to enjoy the Royal Albatross Visitors Centre and to hopefully see some of these majestic birds in flight.

Can not say enough great things about Mateo and his knowledge and professionalism. Very thorough tour and we even saw a penguin being released into the wild at the penguin reserve. Larnach Castle was a surprise, in the one hour stop our group individually had the choice of a plant walk, coffee break or tour of Larnach Castle--if you are a fan of manor houses take the time to quickly go through the house with the recorded guide, it's beautiful. Mateo is one of the best guides I've encountered.
