Full day north of Quito, GORGEOUS, extremely interesting!
This is the most famous of the indian markets in South America, and the reason is its people. Otavaleños are very well-known all over the world for their crafts, culture and music. I take you beyond their market to discover their fascinating traditions. Use my Nikon binoculars to get up close to beautiful scenery and wildlife. We can tour a rose farm, difficult to gain entrance but I can, that produces 40, 000 per day for export as well as a beautifully done, large (think eagles and condors) bird sanctuary where, weather permitting, you can watch them released to fly out of sight over gorgeous mountain scenery and, amazingly, return. We will also shop the large indian market, visit a weaving cottage, a musical instrument making cottage and a neighboring town famous for its leather. This is a very interesting, beautiful, day trip. We can lunch at a variety of places ranging from old haciendas to beautiful lake front restaurants to locals' places for $5.
This tour can be for up to 10 people - see below

Vivian is an amazing tour guide! She is knowledgeable, fun to travel with and very generous with her time. She tailored the day to what we wanted to do, and took us to special places we never would have found on our own.Vivian and her driver picked us up right on time and took us on a great adventure, including an Andean bird aviary, a weaver in Peguche who wove beautiful wall hangings, an instrument maker, and the Otavalo market. A long, fantastic day we totally enjoyed! Thank you!
