I was born and brought up in Sapporo, the forth generation of immgrants to the frontier island of Hokkaido from the main island of Honshu.
I am honored to have an opportunity to introduce our home land, Sapporo and Hokkaido.
I have been engaged in the hotel business in Sapporo as a concierge for years and then I started as a tour guide. I also work as a medical English interpreter mostly for foreign residents in Sapporo.
I can offer standard tours as well as customized tours tailored to meet your needs. In particular my tour includes sightseeing spots that ordinary bus tours do not include but are very interesting places such as a Japanese sake brewery or an ikebana, Japanese flower arrangement class.
Sapporo serves as a flagship base for Hokkaido tourism and a variety of activities as Sapporo is the political, cultural, and economic center of Hokkaido. Hokkaido is treasure trove of tourist attractions: locally grown foods, high cuisine, and dynamic nature. From Sapporo, many many wonderful one-day trips are possible.
I am interested in Japanese history, sports (ski, golf, baseball, etc. ) culture (art, music, flower arrangement, caligraphy, tea ceremony), cuisine and shopping. So please feel free to contact me to plan your travel schedule.
Let me help you discover your own Sapporo and Hokkaido and create memories that wil last a lifetime.
A Recent Review of this guide
Ms. Yuko accepted our request for a tour of Noboribetsu and Lake Toya by private taxi on very short notice, just three days before. Ms. Yuko was very friendly, helpful with travel tips and gracious to answer our questions. She helped us appreciate the cultural aspects of the Ninja Park and told us personal stories of Hell Valley. Best part for us was the Oyunuma Brook Natural Footbath. The tour price with private taxi may have been rather hefty, but well worth the comfort given the rainy weather that day
