A walk through historical and modern Oslo, starting with the medieval castle of Akershus, walking through the old and new centre of town past the town hall, down the main street with the royal castle, the Universtity, the National Theatre and the Parliament buildings, ending the walk by the beautiful Oslo opera, central in the construction of a completely new, modern development.
At your choice, you could end the walk by eating lunch at the opera or at the Ekeberg restaurant nearby, which offers a spectacular view of Oslo. It is nearby that Edward Munch got his inspiration for the famous painting "The scream".
The walk starts at the main gate of Akershus castle, and ends at the new opera.

Kirsti is a knowledgeable guide with excellent insights into various aspects of Norwegian life and culture. She created a customized itinerary based on my request and made good use of the limited time I had, such that I still had a good sense of the city, its offerings and the culture. She is personable and warm and makes sure the guests are comfortable. I recommend her highly!
