Continue up to the old renaissance city Christiania where we can see remaining buildings from the year 1600. We walk up the hill to the old Akershus fortress from 1299, and enjoy the view of the city and the fjord.
At the Opera house we are invited to walk on the roof and enjoy the beautiful view of the fjord and the city. (Optional).
After we have been to the newest part of the city, we walk over to the main street Karl Johan. We will see Oslo's beautiful Cathedral from 1697. We will take a closer look at the Parliament, the National Theatre, the University and the Royal Palace as we stroll along the Karl Johan street.

In Norway you need a professional driver license to drive guests against payment. My tours are either by public transportation, walking, or we need to hire a car with driver. It is also possible to use taxi. That must be paid on the spot.

Frida was terrific. She was knowledgeable, personable and courteous. It was clear she loves Norway and enjoyed showing Oslo to us. She went beyond just sightseeing and gave us insights into historical and cultural issues. We asked for a restaurant suggestion for dinner and she provided an excellent choice and helped us book a reservation. The dinner was excellent. We would highly recommend her.
