Holmenkollen ski jump with the ski museum
By public transportation, we will reach Holmenkollen, a place for everyone both in summer and winter, located 375 m above sea level.
Holmenkollen is an historical landmark in Norwegian consciousness it embodies more than a century of skiing competitions.
The Holmenkollen Ski Jump is world famous and an international symbol for ski jumping and the sport of skiing in general. The new ski jump was built to host the World Championship 2011.
Inside the ski jump is the Ski Museum, the oldest of its kind in the world. The museum presents more than 4000 years of skiing history as well as Norwegian polar exploration artifacts. The museum also presents an exciting documentary where you can experience the magic of the northern lights on film: "The northern lights - a lifetime experience".
The observation deck on top of the ski jump offers a great panoramic view of Oslo on a clear day.

Agnes C met us at our ship, helped us buy an Oslo Pass to cover public transportation and museums. We walked to the metro, took it to Homenkollen ski jump, where we were scheduled for the zip line for all seven of us at 11:30 AM (fabulous, highly recommended). We also visited the Northern Lights exhibit & ski jump simulator, had waffles at the snack shop. Then we visited Vigeland Park, Viking Ship Museum, Fram Museum, with ferry back to the Opera House and ship. Our guide was fabulous!
