Viking Ships, Fram, Kon-Tiki & Norwegian Folk Museum
I will take you to the peninsula of Bygdøy where we will visit four of Oslo's unique museums.
The Norwegian Folk Museum.
A large open-air museum with Gol stave church from 1200 and other buildings and environments show the culture and history of Norway's many regions and cities, both then and now.
The Viking Ship Museum.
The museum displays the world's best preserved wooden Viking ships build in the 9th century. The ships were found in three burial mounds along the Oslo Fjord.
The Fram Museum.
Fram and Gjøa are det world's most famous polar exploration ships. Fram is the strongest wooden ship ever build and still holds the records of sailing farthest north and farthest south. You are welcome on board the ship to see how they lived and managed to survive the most dangerous places on earth - The Arctic and Antarctic.
The Kon-Tiki Museum.
The museum is dedicated to the ships and vessels used by the Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl, it houses the original Kon-Tiki raft and Ra II.
We will travel environmental friendly, by local trams, buses, ferries.
Using public transport is a good way of seeing the city and experience the day to day life.
20 min by public transport. Bus or ferry to Bygdøy.
The museums are within walking distance of each other, approx. 15 min of walking.
20 min by puplic transport back to city centre.
Lunch break is possible if desired.

Duration: 5 hours
Your choice, we have an excellent public bus or ferry to the peninsula of Bygdøy. You may also hire a taxi.

600 NOK - You will need to buy an Oslo pass for the entrances to the museums and the public transportation. NOK 395 for 24h p.p.
Oslo Pass gives you free admission to most museums and attractions as well as free public transport.
Snacks and Refreshments.
Visa and MasterCard are accepted almost everywhere in Oslo.
In Norway you need a professional driver license to drive guests for payment. My tours are either by public transportation, walking, or we need to hire a car with driver.
