I went home for a while to the Grand Canyon and then the Big Island of Hawaii and then began bringing guests back over 6 years ago to Kyoto and Osaka.
There are over 77, 000 temples and over 81, 000 shrines in Japan that are registered with the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Temples stem from Buddhism being brought to Japan around 560CE and Shrines stem from the over 2, 000-year-old history of Japan itself and each Shrine houses a different God or Goddess. I have extensive knowledge of both.
I have complied a few tours here that I am sure you will find both noteworthy and fascinating. I cover Kyoto, Nara, Mie, Osaka, Wakayama and Shikoku, more or less the Kansai region. To give you an idea, Kyoto has over 1, 700 Temples and over 750 Shrines alone… whew! As time will not allow you to visit them all, choose from my list or tell me what you are interested in and I will put together an itinerary for you.
I never take more than six (6) people (unless I am bullied) at a time on any given tour.
Let me know of any questions you may have.

I am not a 'bureau licensed' guide because the test is in Japanese only and no-one outside of a Japanese National can take it but I am AUTHORIZED BY THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT to be your Guide there!
