Kyoto is the one of UNESCO world heritage sites of Japan, which served as Japan's capital and the emperor's residence from 794 to 1868. Although Kyoto was destroyed by many wars and fires, countless temples and shrines and other historically priceless strucures remain. Because Kyoto was dropped from the list of target cities for the atomic bomb and spared from air raids during World War II due to its historical value.

We use JR Shinkansen, bullet train Tokyo-Kyoto round trip. I recommend you to use Private car in Kyoto city. In case of not using a private car, we take public transportation like buses and subways. It may be a little hard for traveling with small children.
