The Chance of a lifetime to see so much history in small proximity of the liberation of Europe.

This tour will include:
Gold Beach with it's legendary 'Mulberry Harbours', Juno Beach, Sword Beach, The Merville Battery and Pegasus Bridge.

I will give ongoing talks on the history of each section and depend on how much time we spend on each site, we'll visit museums.
I will also discuss the overall history of WW2, normally as we travel between each site and over lunch, depending on your individual requirements and knowledge.

Itinerary

This great tour includes Arromanches, which still has many of the 'Mulberry harbors' in place, at low tide, it is possible to walk out to some.
We visit Juno Beach, the landing beach of the Canadians. Also sword beach, the beach at the extreme east of the 60-mile stretch.
There are also the Bayeux war cemeteries to pay our respects to the brave liberators.
We visit the 'Merville Battery' Taken by Lieutenant Colonel Otway's 9th Bn Parachute Regiment on D Day. Pegasus Bridge which was taken by Maj John Howard, played by Richard Todd, a veteran of this airborne landing, in the 'Longest Day' "Hold until relieved".

A Recent Review of this tour

GREAT GUIDE (GRAHAM) we specifically requested to visit particular sites, Graham accommodated this and did extra research which was a massive plus. Also he suggested extra places to see (hon Fleur in particular, well worth a visit) Graham arrived early to collect us, vehicle was good and clean. He did not rush us. He will collect from Ports/Airports/Hotels etc. IF YOU NEED A TOUR GUIDE HE IS REALLY WORTH A TRY. We were picked up from Le Havre Port He was a great kick start to our cruise
