A private tour through how it all began, where it all ended, and how we begin again.
The Native Americans were already here, enjoying the bounty of a little paradise known to them as Mannahatta. Then on 9-11 in the year 1609 Henry Hudson sailed into the harbor of New York and soon the most diverse, raucous & powerful metropolis in the world would be born. On this tour we will stroll through Lower Manhattan and swiftly retrace the steps of NYC history. We'll start at the base of the island and move north, just as the settlers did. We'll talk about money & power and we'll walk on Wall Street. We'll talk about religion & terrorism, and two mighty buildings that stood 110 stories tall. We'll visit a Church called St. Paul's Chapel that miraculously survived the Revolutionary War AND 9-11! We'll honor fire fighters, police officers, and thousands of citizens who died on one horrifying day that changed world history. And of course we'll visit the 9-11 Memorial, a place where painful memories and a yearning for peace collide amidst two spectacular water falls.
Sites we will see:
Alexander Hamilton Custom's House
Bowling Green Park
Federal Hall Memorial
NY Stock Exchange
Federal Reserve Bank of NY
A Founding Father's place of rest
St. Paul's Chapel
The new World Trade Center site
#1 World Trade Center (aka Freedom Tower)
** Please note: This tour does not include a visit to the 9-11 Museum. If such an experience is being considered during your stay in NYC I recommend at least 2-3 hours for your visit. It is quite extensive and very sobering.

Doug was a wonderful guide as he was personable, well informed and kept our two 8 year old granddaughters entertained. We all enjoyed our tour with him.
