Docking in Hell's Kitchen Can Be A Great Occasion!
This is a walk from your ship right through a neighborhood that has progressed from its rowdy and rough-and-tumble history into a growing residential and commercial district. Discover the varying nature of New York as we stroll through the Broadway neighborhood toward and through Midtown - and take public transportation down to wonderful and often unexpected regions of the city. We will visit neighborhoods few may have suspected still exist in New York - but we'll return to your ship, in time for you to relax and enjoy the memories of a day immersed in and among the people of America's largest city.
The walk begins at your ship on the West Side of Manhattan, and crosses over into what was formerly a warehouse and shipping district, yet that now is a growing residential neighborhood. Then, to the Broadway theater district, midtown, and, depending on our mood - and where the conversation is taking us, we shall explore the city using public transportation to aid us in our walking discovery of the city. We shall use public transportation to return to your ship - or wherever you decide to spend the evening!
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: We shall meet at your ship. I shall be standing down near the loading area for coaches, with a small red apple on my left lapel - and will probably be wearing a sport jacket as well. I may also be holding a sign with your name on it, should there be many people milling about, and something more obvious necessary to attract your attention.
End location: The end location could easily be your ship, but, then maybe you'll discover some other destination during the day that you feel would be fun. I will suggest ways for you to return to your ship from that point.
Duration: 4 hours 30 min.
This tour would last from 4 to 5 hours, and could be imagined as "an afternoon in the city," although it could be at any time of your choosing - during daytime hours, of course.
We will walk and use subways and buses
My expert and experienced services as a fully licensed sightseeing guide in the City of New York and 2 paid rides on subway and or bus, plus bus transfers.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
25 US dollars - $25 per person would be a conservative estimate of cash needed for snacks, including fast food (not necessarily to mean MacDonalds, but could include sandwiches from a delicatessen, etc.). If a restaurant be chosen, and a more formal meal be desired, then the cost could rise. Then a major credit card would be desired. Souvenirs, of course, would be extra.
All meals and beverages would be extra, and may or may not require you to have cash in addition to a credit card. We will pass many banks, of course, if you need to access cash for our journey.
NOTE: If your party is more than 4 people, there is a small extra charge per person of $11 (as of 2/24/16 - price may change; please contact me).

Bill was a friendly and informative guide. He willingly fulfilled all of our special requests. The tour exceeded our expectations. Bill picked us up at JFK and dropped us off at the cruise port. In between we had a beautiful and thorough tour of Brooklyn.
