This tour is very customizable. We will discuss just what you'd like to see (I will make more suggestions than are included here), and if you would like to extend this tour, or not return to the city until the close of day 2 (or beyond), we will make adjustments to accommodate your wishes (at extra cost). A Customized and personal drive up and through a part of the Lower Hudson River Valley

This tour will be customized to include those sites that particularly intrigue you about New York, and may even include excursions in the neighboring Westchester (and visit Kykuit, the home of John D. Rockefeller - in the picture!) or Rockland counties to learn more about our fabulous history.

Our excursions can progress as far north as Hudson, NY and Olana, the home of Frederick Edwin Church, as well as Catskill across the river and the home of Church's teacher and inspiration, Thomas Cole.

My itinerary below is but a suggestion! We can also visit Hyde Park, the home of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and many others (including Eleanor!) in that immediate area.

We may split our tour over two days, or more, depending on our desired stops.

Itinerary

There are many possibilities but here is one proposal:

Day One:
We can drive up to Westchester, where such sights as Sunnyside, the home of Washington Irving (but closed until May of 2020), and Lyndhurst (mansion tours recommence in April, 2020), the home of Jay Gould, among others. Also, we can visit Kykuit, the home of John D. Rockefeller (tours recommence in May of 2020). Other attractions that are not necessarily seasonal can include a drive through of Usonia, an area of Pleasantville inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, and an enterprise begun after World War 2.

Day Two:
This day can be for a more intensive exploration on the West side of the Hudson, perhaps to include the childhood home and studio of Edward Hopper in Nyack, who lived his later years in Greenwich Village.

Meeting Point + Tour Duration

Meeting Point Options: Hotel, Address or Intersection, Monument/Building, Suggested by Guide: Please advise where you would like to be met.

End Point Options: Hotel, Address or Intersection, Monument/Building, Suggested by Guide: Please advise where you would like to be left.

This would include two full days of guide services - as your escort and guide to a itinerary of selected sights outside of the city and up the Hudson River Valley. Weather could affect some elements, but others can be introduced to compensate for that inconvenience.

We can be chauffeured in a late model SUV on both days, and will have the ability to move freely between stops without worries of parking, etc.

A Recent Review of this tour

My two grandsons and I were with Bill for two days, during a very busy tourist time in NYC. We couldn't have been more pleased! He tailor-made a tour for us and covered all the areas that we requested, including the usual "five -star" sites, plus special neighborhoods which make New York so special. We have had such good experiences with TBL guides that I am reluctant to say any one is "the best." But, to be clear, Bill is in the top echelon. We recommend him without hesitation!
