As a native New Orleanian I take pleasure waking up each day knowing that people like you, from all over the world, have chosen my hometown to visit.
My educational, career and volunteer backgrounds have all been focused on the development, promotion and history of New Orleans. I have a Master's Degree in Urban Studies from the University of New Orleans and have worked as an Area Council Manager for the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, specializing in economic development. As a volunteer for the Council of International Visitors, I have served as a private tour guide for foreign dignitaries invited by the Department of State for more than 20 years.
I am a licensed tour guide for the City of New Orleans; fully insured and a member of the New Orleans Tour Guide Association. I offer a wide variety of standard tours in and around the City along with custom tours designed to meet your specific wants and needs.
My tours are fact-based, comprehensive and are designed to teach you about the people, culture and history of this unique City. My goal is to provide a fun-filled yet informative experience that helps you understand what makes New Orleans such a colorful place to live and visit.
You will notice that all of my tours are limited to either 4 or 8 guests. This limitation exists to ensure that each guest gets personal attention throughout the tour.
Finally, as a personal commitment to you, I offer what I call "Lagniappe Service". Lagniappe in New Orleans terms means something extra. This is a post-tour service. For three days after the tour I am available to provide suggestions, recommendations, opinions, research and general help. Having a native at your disposal can be helpful if you need a doctor, a restaurant recommendation or just help with directions.
Thank you for visiting our wonderfully unique city and I hope I can be part of your adventure.
A Recent Review of this guide
Dominick was an incredible guide. As a former N.O. city planner his knowledge of this city is extensive. Our tour took in several restaurants for tasting southern foods which stretched us to try some "real" specialities including alligator and catfish. Aside from full tummies we took away much information imparted to us about the history of N.O. from its beginning, through the French/Spanish/French/American occupations, wars, fires and Katrina's aftermath and massive rebuilding. Highly recommend Dominick.
