Stroll through the Historic French Quarter Sampling Appetizers while learning about New Orleans!
The Taste of New Orleans Tour gives you the opportunity to taste a variety of local favorites.
In each restaurant and at sites between restaurants we will explore the history of the city, the people and events that made this city such a unique place to live and visit.
Appetizer selections will be made carefully and respect the taste preferences of each person on the tour. Some people will enjoy a drink or two along the way but this tour is not a pub crawl.
The tour is designed to be more a social gathering rather than a formal tour, one that encourages open discussion rather than a formal presentation.
The tour is a unique way to have access to a native New Orleanian, someone who can make learning fun while helping you navigate the city, nightlife, food and attractions during your visit.
The number of restaurant stops, amount of food and selections vary. Based on experience, the norm is 2-3 stops. Visitors with food preferences, allergies, limitations, etc. should explain these factors before booking.
The tour begins at the Cabildo on Jackson Square and outlines the general history of the city, focusing on events that happened in or near the Cabildo, St. Louis Cathedral, the Presbytre, Pirate's Alley and the Quadroon Ballroom. From there we move to our first restaurant to enjoy our first appetizer.
From there we visit the Place D'Arms courtyard to explore one of the hidden gems located throughout the French Quarter.
Next we visit the Pontalba Apartments the home of Vincent Nunez, the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum, and make our appetizer stop.
After our second appetizer we visit Exchange Alley and the Louisiana Supreme Court before heading to our third restaurant. We may limit our stops to two if everyone has had enough food. We may add or substitute a visit to a Jazz club; admission costs and drinks are extra.
Crowds, weather, service speed and time at each site will determine the length of the tour and which actual restaurants we visit.

Dominick was an incredible guide. As a former N.O. city planner his knowledge of this city is extensive. Our tour took in several restaurants for tasting southern foods which stretched us to try some "real" specialities including alligator and catfish. Aside from full tummies we took away much information imparted to us about the history of N.O. from its beginning, through the French/Spanish/French/American occupations, wars, fires and Katrina's aftermath and massive rebuilding. Highly recommend Dominick.
