Beer and a castle, what could be better !
Neuschwanstein Castle is wrapped in mystery and beauty. The former dream of the Wittlesbach king, Ludwig II, the castle is not only gorgeous but the perfect place to explore the mystery of Ludwig's untimely demise and begin to learn the Bavarian Beer Culture. Our tour includes the scenic Oberammergau village for lunch at a local brewery, time for shopping, and the history of the area, the paintings, and the Passion Play. Then the late afternoon is a short stop at the Ettal Monastery for a tour of their brewery museum and chapel. The tour ends at the village of Murnau where we will visit the Griesbräu brewery and beer garden for samples, food, history, and fun. Then at 6:30 p. m. we make our way to the Murnau train station for a short train ride back into the city of Munich.

Jake was a fantastic guide for our trip to Neuschwanstein and surrounding area. As a self proclaimed "history geek" he had plenty of interesting information and facts to share and had a unique way of presenting that was informative and entertaining. The best part of our trip though was the last stop in Murnau and the Griesbrau Brewery. It was a great break from all the Touristy stops on our trip and a real sneak peak into a charming, local, off the beaten path place that makes you want to come back!
