Nessebar & Wine tasting
Welcome to Nessebar.
See the Ancient Nessebar, UNESCO site since 1983. Initially established as a fortified Thracian settlement, it later passed trough different stages: a Greek polis, a Roman town, a Byzantine and a medieval Bulgarian sea fortress.
The best way to see this charming seaside town, famous for its well preserved Orthodox churches is to stroll around the attractive cobblestone narrow streets which still retain their original beauty.
Why wine-tastng in Bulgaria? Because Bulgaria has a long standing traditions in viticulture. The Thracians learnt the Ancient Greeks all about grapes and how to use it...
Visit the most famous on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast male Orthodox monastery - St. George.
Take a sightseeing walk along the narrow cobbled streets of Old Nessebar and discover its impressive medieval churches, scattered in the small peninsula. After a short drive to Pomorie visit one of the town's symbols - the antique beehive tomb from the time of the late Roman domination; an active monastery, named after St. George the Victorious and a working salt mine. Wine tasting in a winery in Pomorie.

Daniela was a fabulous guide. She had a wonderful sense of humor and helped us to learn what life is like in Bulgaria. She took us off the beaten track to an authentic home from the 1800's which we enjoyed immensely. Our driver was great. Her explanations about the churches in Nessebar were very detailed. If we travel again in Bulgaria, we would definitely use her services again.
