Capital of the island is Myrina with a lot of sightseeing's, situated around two gulfs, the harbor and the shore called Romeikos Gialos.
The city took its name from the first king of ancient Lemnos, Thoas who named the islands capital after his wife Myrina.
Ntapia fortress was built in 1770 by the Russian troops of Orlof in order to blockade the Turks at the castle of Myrina. From here we have the best view over Myrina and the castle.
Walk through Myrina to the shore. We walk on a small path around the hill up to the top of the impressive castle. The Byzantine fortification position on the highest point above the town. It was built in the 12th century AD on the site of an ancient fortification.
Today the only inhabitants of the castle of Myrina are dozens of deer.
Back at the harbor we will enjoy a drink in the traditional coffee who used to be the mosque during the Ottoman time.

If you like to stay in Myrina you can do some shopping in the pedestrian zone or go for swimming at Riha Nera (organized beach with umbrellas, sunbeds, bar and water sport).
