A typical local lifestyle

Many of you would have read about various wonderful tourist attractions and places of interest to visit when you are in this small little city I call home.

However, have you wondered about the life of a typical working class Singaporean? Allow me to bring you on a journey through a typical day of a Singaporean. We will visit the market, neighbourhood, eat and shop like a local. It will be through a journey of sights and tastes to allow me to introduce you this city.

Along the way, find out more about two very interesting cultures of Singapore which belong to the Malay and Chinese Peranakans.

(This tour in customisable in terms of start time and places to visit)

9. 00 am - Pick Up from Cruise Centre

9. 30 am - Geylang Serai Market. This is an old village developed into a town for the Malay people. We will visit a local wet market and try some malay muslim foods.

11. 00 am - Katong. A neighbourhood made famous by the Chinese Peranakans. A hybrid of Chinese and Malay with a beautiful culture of colours and flavours. We will see shophouses and visit one of them, plus trying the famous Laksa.

12. 30 pm - Toa Payoh Satellite Town. Second earliest town by our government. Let me show you how a flat looks like. Here, you see housewives going about their lives and its a town where my great grandma used to stay. :)

A Recent Review of this tour

My parents could not stop saying all kind of good things about Daniel after the fantastic tour with Daniel. They had their best time in Singapore with Daniel(even better than the days I had planned for so long time for them). I really do feel grateful for Daniel. He is not only an absolutely amazing guide, but also one of the kindest person my parents ever met. Daniel showed my parents the lovely city Singapore from local point of view, and made my parents fall in love with the gorgeous garden city.
