Private tour of the islands of the venetian lagoon
Ever wonder what Venice looked like before the tourists, or even before the fancy palazzo and art- stuffed museums?
Well the answer lies just on a 1, 5 miles vaporetto ride away on the fishing village islands of the northern lagoon.
The day trip I propose is to see 2 most rewarding islands in the northern lagoon that we can visit together in one long perfect day!
Explore the island on foot and stop at a glass factory to watch a skilled glass blower create works of art. Admire some of Murano's wealth in the 15th and 16th centuries when the island was central to Europe's glass making. View the magnificent splendor of Murano's palaces and Veneto-Byzantine style churches, some with mosaics and ornamental motifs, catch a glimpse of San Michele - Venice's 19th-century cemetery - across the water.
Next, the journey to Burano and admire the picturesque fishermen's houses painted in bright pastel colors. In this miniature Venice, you'll find the famous lace - abundant since the 16th century, once considered the most refined in Europe. Browse local shops and will stop here enough to grab some lunch.
We return to Venice by public boat. *** It is possible to have private taxi for the tour. Please request quotation.

I enjoyed the tour with Elisabetta very much. Elisabetta was friendly, knowledgeable, frank about local culture, and she took the time to find us a local cafe for lunch before leaving us.
