When I'm guiding I like to share my interest and excitement for cities in general, but especially for my home city of Munich with its very rich history and high concentration of buildings and monuments that provide first class insight into the history and architecture of Bavaria.
After walking half a day together I would like to impart a sense of how to read the city, its churches, other buildings and how they connect to history, society, culture, and religious movements of the time.
I offer relaxed walks through a vivid city with plenty of time to appreciate this living, dynamic, contemporary capital of Bavaria that is perfect for visitors who like combine learning and everyday cultural pleasures that Munich is so well known for. I like to make time for questions and further discussion to give you a sense of connectedness with a local inhabitant (and ask the questions you were always afraid to ask!).
I have a varied background including a university degree in Geology and the study of History of Art and Philosophy. I worked 20 years as a cultural journalist specializing in modern and contemporary art. For the past 16 years I have been a lecturer on cruise ships in Antarctica, the Arctic, and tropical regions. In my spare time I give lectures on New York City at the Munich Public High School.
I very much look forward to being your informative guide!
