Ascending Mount Kenya and Descending to Samburu
Mount Kenya is the highest Mountain in Kenya and the Second highest in Africa after Kilimanjaro. Together with the Aberdares, the two form the central region mountains from whose waters enable survival of flora and fauna in the greater North and North Eastern parts of Kenya.
The Aberdare ranges is one adventurous place for a drive in the moorlands as well as walking safaris around its falls which are the highest in Kenya. On the other hand, Mt. Kenya might be unforgiving in terms of temperature and terrain if you are hiking beyond one day especially through Narumoru route. However, a day's trip through Sirimon route will let you get intimate with the mountain and its wildlife species.
Samburu National reserve is a wild theater sitting at the foot plains of Mt. Kenya and here you have a chance to see exclusive wildlife species of Northern Kenya including the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk and the reticulated giraffe.
Day 1: Depart Nairobi for the Aberdare ranges where we have a game drive, and walking sessions in the park. We spend the night at the park.
Day 2: We depart for Mt Kenya where we rest at hotel after arrival and enjoy the wildlife.
Day 3: We have a one day hike up and around the mountain and back to hotel.
Day 4: We depart for Samburu after breakfast and check in at hotel after a cultural village experience. The group will have an evening wildlife drive in the Park.
Day 5: After a morning drive in the park, we come back to hotel for breakfast and then depart for Nairobi.
