Discover Japanese Food Culture and Onuma Park with private guide
Port city Hakodate attracts many tourists for its fresh seafood. Let's go to the morning market first. You will enjoy various kinds of seafood, vegetables and fruits. Crabs, squid, shellfish, octopus, shrimp-they are alive. Would you like to taste some of them?
Then catch a train to Onuma Park. It takes only 30 minutes to get there. The park is one of the new Three Sights of Japan. A view of the lake and Mt. Komagatake is like a vast Japanese garden. If you like walking, why don't you take a 50-minutes lakeshore walking? If you don't like walking very much, take a short course and take good photos at view points. Or take a pleasure boat. I recommend Onuma dumpling as a local specialty.
Have a buffe lunch at EPUY that only uses local produce within 10 kilometers from the restaurant. A reservation is required at least one day before the tour date.

Fumiko was not only knowledgeable but sweet and considerate in all ways. She explained the foods in morning market and helped us sample them. She made our few hours with her go smoothly by pre-buying the train tickets to Onuma and calling ahead to the restaurant for the main courses. As it was our first day in Japan on a cruise ship, she helped us overcome any hesitation about using public transport which will help with the rest of our trip. And before the trip, she was a great communicator.
