the best of Michelangelo in Florence
This 3 hour walking tour takes us through Michelangelo's world and into some of Florence's less visited places.
We'll go to: THE MEDICI CHAPLES to see the masterpieces he made for the Medici Family in the New Sacristy, where Michelangelo also hid from them in a secret underground room. THE ACCADEMIA to see "his" David. THE OLD PALACE and SIGNORIA SQUARE, the center of Florentine Republic so dear to Michelangelo, and where David stood for centuries.
Time permitting, we will also go the SANTA CROCE CHURCH where Michelangelo is buried or you can choose to see the BARGELLO MUSEUM which has several works by Michelangelo.
Our tour will aslo take us through the city center where we can see other important monuments (DUOMO, ORSANMICHELE CHURCH) and walk in the footsteps of Michelangelo.
All tours are custom tours and can be modified according to your interests.
We will start the tour at the Medici Chapel, and then go on to the Accademia Gallery, then visit the Cathedral Square and go on to the Old Palace/Signoria Square. Time permitting, Santa Croce Church or the Bargello museum can be added at your request.
You can also choose to make stops along the way.
