Here, you can experience Noble Passions
All around Dresden you can find the traces of the Saxon rulers.
Coming to Meissen we see the old capital of Saxony with its castle hill. It is impressiv how Albrechts Castle and the cathedral stand high above the old town.
But today, Meissen is known all over the world because of its "white gold" - the first porcelain of Europe - which has been made here since 1710, and is still made today by hand in a manufactory. And you can experience how this is done - crafted on a potter's wheel and painted!
One of the highest of the noble passions was hunting. That is very well visible when we come to Moritzburg - a hunting lodge like a castle in an fairy tale.
Following the river Elbe, we will soon reach Meissen. Here we will first visit the porcelain manufactory. In the demonstration workshop you will experience how "white gold" is made and painted. Of course you can also buy it, and enjoy your coffee served in Meissen porcelain.
After this, we will discover the old town of Meissen, go for a nice stroll through the picturesque lanes and stop for lunch in a local restaurant.
Now we will continue to Moritzburg to visit the beautiful hunting castle with its impressive collection of antlers, the feather room and the leather wall coverings.
